About Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center
The Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center has been providing activities and programs for Wenatchee Valley seniors for over 40 years. The senior center is not a residence -- it's a community activity center for people ages 50 and up. We offer dozens of activities, from aerobics to Zumba, plus book clubs, writing groups, a community choir, card playing groups, majong and much more! We also offer technology tutoring and training to help seniors bridge the digital divide.
We operate an affordable lunch program that is open to the public for four days per week. Members pay just $5 ($10 for nonmembers). Our travel program is open to people of all ages and organizes group tours throughout the United States and internaionally. Our Second Chance Thrift Shop has won World's Best Thrift Shop 7 years in a row and counting. All the proceeds from the thrift shop pay for senior center operations. Membership is just $35 per year for inidividuals and $55 for couples. While our programs are focused on people 50 and older, anyone can join and take advantage of our benefits. About Russ AlmanI have almost 40 years of experience working with technology and digital marketing. I spent 20+ years working in information technology, providing on-site computer technical support for businesses and individuals, but I have always had a passion for leveraging technology for communications and marketing. When social media took off in 2008, I knew it was time to transition from troubleshooting computers to digital marketing.
After moving to Wenatchee in 2012, I started focusing on social media management and website design. In 2014, I joined forces with another local social media expert and created Digital Media Northwest. In July 2023, I left the partnership to become the Director of Communications and Development for the Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center, managing their marketing programs, public relations and implementing and managing their membership, fundraising and event management systems. I also produce and direct television shows for the senior center as a community outreach tool. At the same time, I created Alman Media Group so that I can continue to work with select clients on their digital marketing and pursue my interest in event and sports photography. I am the official photographer of the WHL Wenatchee Wild. I hold a BA in communications from Western Michigan University and an MA in telecommunications from Michigan State University. To stay physically active, I also play pickleball and chase after my adorable granddaugther. |
